Spring Hills Golf Course was constructed in the
spring/summer of 2000. In the relatively short period of time it has been in
play, the course has been developed to rival the playing surfaces of other
courses in the area. The course offers greens built to USGA specifications, a
computer controlled irrigation system, and the highest quality bunker sand to
ensure superiority.
The course was designed by Ron Kern, Golf Course Design Group, and draws upon
the essence and spirit of the game of golf. From the relatively straight and
starting to the vexing fourth, a blind Redan, the spirit and challenge of the
game of golf will be found throughout a round of golf at Spring Hills Golf
Course.
Spring Hills Golf Course is a family based business, owned by Melvin Adams.
Adams developed the course from the land his family once farmed.

Golf
Course Design: The golf course was
routed to take full advantage of the land’s attributes. The golf course design
is strategic in nature, demanding, yet not overwhelming. Shot making is a premium when playing the golf course. Each hole
presents a different challenge to the player. Some holes tempt the player to
take a gamble, some require the player to have a deft putting touch, some
emphasize directional precision, some demand a high soft shot, some call for a
low running shot. All the holes have putting green complexes and surfaces that
will test a player’s short game. Though the golf course is a little short on the
yardage side, it is not short on strategic golf shot values and risk and reward
challenges. |
